The piece of furniture commonly called the Breuer Chair is a high-back, upholstered chair with a very linear design. It was designed by Marcel Breuer and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1928, and so it’s not exactly easy to find. But it’s worth the hunt! Here at Breuer Chair Company we have an affordable Breuer-style chair that will look amazing in your space.
It’s a chair style that has been around for ages.
The Breuer Chair is a type of furniture designed and manufactured by Marcel Breuer in the 1920s and 1930s. This chair, like other significant pieces of his work, has had an immense influence on modern design to this day. It was originally made exclusively for the Bauhaus school in Germany but production continued after he left in 1928 to create versions with different materials, types of wood or with fabric. His goal was always to simplify things by molding them into one material instead of using several per item which meant less labor intensive processes- saving weight, time and money all at once!
